Tests and Results

We understand that waiting for test results can be worrying. We aim to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible.

Getting Your Results

You can get your test results by:

• Calling the practice
• Using online services where available

Please allow enough time for your results to be received and reviewed before contacting us.

When to Call

As a guide:

• Blood tests usually take a few days
• Urine tests may take a few days
• X-rays and scans can take longer

If you are unsure, please ask when your test is taken.

Important

All results are reviewed by a clinician before being shared with you.

This means there may be a short delay between the result arriving at the practice and being available to patients.

If Your Result Needs Follow-Up

If your result needs further action:

• We will contact you, or
• You may be asked to book an appointment

If you have been advised to contact us for your results, please do so.

Your Responsibility

It is important that you check your results if you have been advised to do so.

If you have not heard from us and are concerned, please contact the practice.

You may be able to view your results online using NHS Wales services.
